When Rachel and Wylie asked if I would be willing to do their engagement session in Toronto, I gave a resounding HELL YES! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE shooting in Toronto, especially in the Distillery District! Not only did I get that opportunity, but I also got to go on an adventure with this couple to Toronto Island for the very first time!
Picking your engagement wardrobe can be so very stressful, there are so many things to consider. It’s important to stay true to your style while also choosing a wardrobe that looks great without taking the focus to what you’re wearing. Rachel and Wylie #nailedit, I LOVE their leather jackets and earthy tones, it just worked so well for this fall engagement session in Toronto.
The second we arrived in Toronto I found epic locations to shoot. Seriously, we could not take two steps without me proclaiming- HERE! You guys, stand HERE! I literally did not stop dancing and smiling as everywhere we walked on our way to the Distillery District Toronto inspired me. Then we get to the district and it was pure photographic GOLD! Every little alley we went down, the pretty giant red heart, classic stone walls, cobblestone walkways….just amazing! Even when we left the district we found this super cool spot that looked so prehistoric, it was different then what we were going for but I really dug the vibe.
I am sad to admit that even after living in Toronto for almost 2 years that I had NEVER been to Toronto Island. Well if you don’t count Billy Bishop Airport. You guys, this place is DANG cute! Quaint little cottage like houses, lots of trees, gorgeous beaches and ZERO cars. Toronto Island is the kind of place you could only dream of retiring on, peaceful, lovely and community focused. Good luck getting one of these houses though, the houses are on a 99-year lease that started in 1939 so the only way a house can be passed down is through the family. 2038 isn’t too far away though! A girl can dream!
It was a little brisk that day so we ended our session by grabbing a Timmy’s Hot Coco on our way back to the car. Of course, I found another photographic moment, cause well, Toronto. 🙂
