As a wedding photographer in Niagara, I have had the pleasure of documenting two weddings and one bridal styled shoot at Maple Meadows Farm & Event Centre. It is truly one of my top 5 favorite Niagara Wedding venue locations!
Becky and Sam’s wedding was my first in the new Maple Meadows barn and it did not disappoint! Owners Laurie and Brian Pye did not spare any expense when refurbishing their family barn. The farm was established almost 200 years ago and Laurie’s parents bought it when she was just 10 years old. Thirty years ago they purchased the farm from her parents and have continued to grow and improve upon it every year.
The Maple Meadows barn built in the 1840’s is now fully renovated and offers 5000 sq ft of “original post and beam” construction. This truly remarkable barn, offers ready rooms for both his and hers. It also has a “loft” mezzanine, gorgeous built-in bathrooms, tables and chairs and chandelier lighting. As avid vintage shoppers, they also provide lots of props if needed free of charge for DIY decor!
There is a beautiful rustic green space approx. 2 acres for ceremonies and space for your guest to enjoy the day and possibly some lawn games. It is bordered by huge maple trees with a gorgeous view over the pasture. Complete with barns, manicured gardens and fields, it makes the perfect backdrop for photos. Another highlight are the stunning horses that often attend the ceremonies. I can’t forget, the spunky little donkey named Gus who is so famous he has his own Instagram account!
Lastly to mention is that Laurie is an incredible gardener and floral designer. She often does the floral arrangements for her clients on request with the beautiful fresh flowers she grows in her onsite garden. Maple Meadows Farm and Event Centre is definitely a wedding venue you should look at when planning your Niagara Wedding!
Becky and Sam are one of my all-time fave couples. When I first met them in September 2018 for their romantic beach engagement session I knew we would be lifelong friends. Becky and Sam met in Australia while Becky was on a study abroad program. She met her Aussie love Sam just 5 days before she was about to return home. It was love at first sight and they spent years rocking their long-distance relationship with visiting and living within each other’s countries for periods of time.
My husband’s best friend is also from Australia and met his Canadian wife there in a similar way so I felt right at home with Becky and Sam. Aussie’s and Canadian’s coming together for a celebration is the absolute best! We’re so similar in personality and quirkiness that it just makes for some epic fun.
One of the standout moments for me during the Maple Meadows wedding was while I was capturing some of the Aussies playing Cricket in the field. I wanted to get a shot of the pitcher and got pegged hard with the ball! The best part was I captured the pitchers face and the moment he realized the ball was going to hit me. The guys were so great and felt so bad. I shook it off but there was definitely a welt the next day.
Enjoy looking at Becky and Sam’s Maple Meadows Farm and Event Centre Wedding! I have future weddings booked here that I absolutely can’t wait to document!
