For many couples, the idea of an intimate elopement style ceremony is pure heaven. I myself had a small ceremony with just 16 of our nearest and dearest. At the time our main financial priority was buying a house but after being together for 9 years we wanted to make it official. It was perfectly us in every way. That’s why I was so excited when Stephen & Denise hired me to capture their beautiful intimate wedding at Vineland Estates winery.
The property is stunning and the old carriage house has a lovely, European, mid-century vibe. With it’s stone walls, wood beams, chandeliers and big open windows you seriously can not go wrong. Every wedding that I have documented here has been incredibly beautiful, whether its 16 people or 50 people, it really is the perfect intimate Niagara Wedding Venue.
Well, actually I should say their day(s) plural. In actuality, it was a 2-day affair! They had me capture their ceremony and a nice intimate dinner with their closest family members on Friday. Then Saturday I headed to Toronto to document their reception at the trendy Boxcar Social Riverside.
Stephen and Denise both got ready at the adorable on-site cottages. It was pretty casual and relaxed, we did some fun jumping on the bed photos with Denise and her daughter Chloe. Then, when Stephen came in he wanted to get in on the fun. It was a great way to start the day!
One of my fave glam girls, Page of Honor Beauty was there getting the girls all dolled up. It’s always a pleasure for me when I get to work with the best in the buiz.
After everyone was ready Denise and I met Stephen at the Carriage House for their first look and pre-wedding portraits. It was a super sweet moment, I truly love those first looks and seeing how the guys react.
We headed into the vineyards after that where I got some of my all-time fave vineyard photos! The lighting was seriously exceptional and the greens came out so lush!
Vineland Estates Vineyard does not disappoint. After a high spirited ceremony with a quirky minister, everyone shared in a toast and then we grabbed some family photos before I was on my way.
The Toronto reception at Boxcar Social was fabulous. I always love heading into the city for any event really. The vibe and bars there are always so unique and make for great photos.
The reception was very informal and all about socializing with friends and family who came to celebrate with Stephen & Denise. It was great and I really enjoy all of the candid moments that we captured.
All in all, Stephen and Denise’s Vineland Estates Winery Wedding and Toronto reception were two events that I’ll never forget. I really enjoyed getting to know them and love that we remain friends on Facebook. I hope to grab a drink with them the next time they are in Niagara!
